What to do

The Park is a very wide territory with different features, and for this reason we still divide it into Estates, as it has been passed down to us. Every Estate has different access modalities since part of them are private properties, while others are ruled by environmental safeguard regulations. For those who want to visit and experience the Park there are activities and proposals that enable us to know the territory and fully live it.
Our favorite partners are the Park's Visitor Centers, where you will find all the most detailed information.

Surrounded by the Park's nature, visitors will be able to undertake several hiking activities:

  • On foot in the Park
    This is the best way to visit the Park, to enjoy all the extraordinary varieties composing it.
    Some equipped paths can be visited freely, the presence of didactic panels offers the visitors useful information.
  • By bike in the Park
  • On horseback in the Park
  • By boat in the Park
  • Nature photography
  • Special experiences
  • Discovering gastronomy
  • Picnic in the Park
    To spend a day surrounded by nature and find the pleasure of eating in the open air, it is possible to have a picnic on the meadows in the free-access area. The barbecue is allowed if used in such a way that it does not represent a danger. To this purpose we recommend you to respect the following regulations:
    - place the barbecue at least 50 meters from the trees;
    - place the barbecue on a support or on a safe and flat ground;
    - be equipped with water containers for possible fire interventions
    - do not throw away carbon with waste but bury it under the sand in order to avoid dangerous situations for the people and the surrounding environment
    - after a picnic do not leave or hide your waste beneath the bushes. Remember that it takes almost one year for the paper napkins, which are biodegradable, to decompose. Not to mention the plastic bags, which are indestructible. Some waste is also dangerous for the animals because they are sharp (glass fragments, open cans etc.), others, like bottles and cans, can become deadly traps for insects and small rodents.
  • Sport in the Park (golf, canoe, kaiak, horse riding)
  • On the beach in the Park
    The most wanted beaches in the Tuscan coast; visitors will be able to choose among the beaches of Marina di Vecchiano, Marina di Torre del Lago and Lecciona north of the River Serchio, while south of the Arno there are the beaches of Marina di Pisa, Tirrenia and Calambrone, where both equipped areas and free areas on the beach are available.
  • Children in the Park
    Besides the daily activities, our Visitor Centers organize residential and non-residential summer activities.
  • Nature and culture
    One of the most fascinating features of this territory is the coexistence of historical, architectural and archaeological realities of extraordinary importance; many artists were inspired by these territories, such as Giacomo Puccini.
  • Volunteering
  • Fishing
  • Collecting of brushwood products
