The structure

Migliarino, San Rossore, Massaciuccoli is one of the first parks of regional establishment and the second one in Tuscany after the Maremma Park (established in 1975). The Regional Law No. 61/79 establishes the Nature Park, meaning the territory and the jurisdiction field, defining its purposes and fixing the borders (articles 1 and 2). The article 3 establishes the Park Authority: the  Migliarino, San Rossore, Massaciuccoli Nature Park Consortium is entrusted with the Park's management and administration.

Formed by the representatives of the 7 involved administrations (5 Municipalities and 2 Provinces), the Consortium has started to take its first steps since 1980.

The establishing law, the statute and other regulatory instruments have defined its structure and functioning, giving the Consortium itself its own independent organization (from the operational point of view) for a correct and effective management of the Park.

In the following 15 years the Consortium could count on increasing human, technical, economic-financial and regulatory resources such as:

  1. Administrative bodies (President, Administrative Board, Consortium Assembly, Board of Auditors);
  2. Technical-advisory bodies (Scientific Committee, Committee for Agriculture, Committee of Users, etc.);
  3. Employed persons (employees, technicians, security staff, workers);
  4. Contributions from the institutions belonging to the Consortium and further revenues (administrative fines, other incomes from activitys or services etc.);
  5. Regulatory instruments (laws, statute, regulations, plans, etc.).
